The Workforce Investment Network (WIN) in Mississippi is an innovative strategy designed to provide convenient, one-stop employment and training services to employers and job seekers. Combining federal, state and community workforce programs and services into physical locations and electronic sites, WIN In Mississippi creates a system that is both convenient and user-friendly.

MDES On the Job Training
On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a program that assists employers in training new employees. The employee cannot have any prior experience in the job for which training is developed. Employers utilizing OJT may be reimbursed up to 50 percent (50%) of the wage rate of the new employee to cover the cost of training and supervision. The maximum time that an employer can be reimbursed is based on the skill level of the job and the content of the training. To participate an employer must:
•Offer a full time job
•Have an IRS identification number
•Have worker's compensation insurance
•Maintain an adequate system of record keeping

Central Mississippi Planning and Development District Work Force Training
South-central Mississippi Works is a consortium of seventeen Mississippi counties dedicated to improving the skill levels of area residents and, thus, improving their employment opportunities while ensuring that area employers have access to a skilled and productive labor force.
CMPDD, in partnership with Southwest Mississippi Planning and Development District, plans and coordinates workforce development activities from a variety of agencies and organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to employment and training needs. "One-Stop" Career Centers, located throughout the area, provide job seekers, incumbent workers, and employers with information and assistance specific to their individual needs.
