Recreation
“Recreation’s purpose is not just to keep a person occupied, but to keep them refreshed; not to offer an escape from life, but to provide a discovery of life.”
—Anonymous
From its Atlanta Braves AA baseball team located in a $20 million stadium to its Barnett Reservoir on the Pearl River as a popular spot for all kinds of water recreation to its numerous golf courses and athletic complexes, Rankin County provides a full menu of public recreational opportunities. Families and kids are key elements in our community planning whether it is in the formation of little league, swim or soccer teams; or in the promotion of crafts festivals and picnics in our parks.
