New And Expanded Facilities
•2008 New and Expanded Report
•2009 Jan-July Report
About These Reports
The information in the New and Expanded Facilities Report is compiled from a variety of sources. They include the Mississippi Development Authority's project managers and regional services personnel, economic development organizations around the state, a statewide news clipping service, various economic development publications, and an annual survey of Mississippi manufacturers.
For the purpose of this report, a new industry is defined as one locating in Mississippi for the first time, or an additional noncontiguous site for a company already operating in the state. An expanding industry is one presently located in a Mississippi community that announces plans to increase operations at that facility through additional new jobs and/or square footage, purchase of new equipment, or other significant capital outlays; or any combination of these actions.
New jobs created refers to projected employment and may later be altered by the company in response to changing business conditions. Capital investment refers to capital invested in land, buildings, and equipment. NA indicates that job numbers or capital investment is not available. CONFID indicates that information has been withheld at the company's request.
NOTE: Entries made in the current calendar year are subject to change as new information is received.
